Daze trap glue for a 'do-it-yourself' daze trap: with a bucket, glue and possibly an iron stand(but a board on a fence post can do the trick too), make your own daze trap:
Now free glue brush with every bucket of glue

  • How does a daze trap with glue work?
Tits (horseflies) hunt with infrared eyes, which means they are only attracted to movement and heat. Black horses are therefore more affected by biting hares, because they are warmer than other horses in the herd. Because the black bucket or daze ball gets warm in the sun and it moves slightly, the hare sees this as prey where it can drink blood. Once it arrives on the bucket, the hare sticks to it.
  • How long does the glue last?
With 1.5 L, you can lubricate a bucket 30 times. The glue has no expiry date and will last for years. However, the glue should be properly sealed and stored frost-free.
  • How long will the glue stay on the bucket?
The glue stays on the bucket for about 12-20 weeks. This depends on the weather; in dry and windy weather, sand gets on the glue, reducing its adhesive strength.
  • Is the glue waterproof?
Yes, the adhesive is rain resistant and the latest version is even heat resistant up to 70 degrees.
  • Is the glue toxic?
No, the glue is environment- and animal-friendly and made from natural minerals, making it eco-friendly and pesticide-free. However, we do recommend keeping it out of reach of children and animals.
  • How do you clean the bucket?
The glue cannot be washed off the bucket because it is waterproof. You can very easily roll the bucket (with the old layer of glue and daubs) through the sand and then scrape it off the bucket with a putty knife. You then use the bucket again and again.
  • Sticky Trap and bycatchers
Sticky Trap daze glue has virtually no bycatch. Daases hunt with infrared perception for heat and movement. Other important insects such as butterflies, bees and other species are not attracted to Sticky Trap's glue. This is because they are looking for sweetness and nectar and are therefore not attracted to the bucket. However, it may happen that a stray moth flies into the bucket, but this is rare. These also sometimes end up in ordinary daze traps. Because of its adhesive properties, Sticky trap cannot cause any damage to others, such as birds, people and other (farmyard) animals.
  • How many glue traps per 10,000m² (1 hectare)?
For best capture, we recommend hanging 2-3 buckets per 10,000 square metres of ground. If you have more than 5 horses in the pasture, it is recommended to hang more buckets.

Product description

The Sticky Trap glue trap brings peace of mind to you, your horses and other livestock. With the Sticky Trap glue trap, you tackle the nuisance of gnats quickly, inexpensively and easily.
This daze trap naturally catches daes, horseflies, blind gnats and small biting insects without the use of pesticides, making it a safe and trusted solution in tackling daze infestation.
Bees, butterflies and other important insects that provide pollination for flora & fauna seek nectar and sweetness and are not attracted to Sticky Trap. The glue sticks for 8-16 weeks and is only suitable for catching small insects and not dangerous for humans and other animals.
However, we do recommend placing the daze trap out of horses' reach.

The hare is an insect that uses blood for reproduction and egg development. The female hare searches for its prey with infrared eyes and, while flying, scans the environment for heat sources. Anything warm and moving in this process contains blood in her eyes and is potential prey to bite. With a razor-sharp snout, the hare cuts open the skin and starts drinking blood.

The black bucket of the daze trap is warmed by the sun, and the hare sees it as prey and will land on the bucket to bite it. The Sticky Trap glue trap is fitted with special glue that traps the landed hare. The trap glue sticks for 8-16 weeks and is applied liberally with a brush. New glue is applied over the old glue. Cleaning the bucket is very easy with a putty knife. (Tip: roll the bucket through sand first) With 1.5 litres of daze trap glue, you can grease the ball up to 6 times. The steel frame of the Sticky Trap glue trap is galvanised and can be left outside in winter.

With 0.5 litres of Sticky Trap daze glue, you make 10 daze traps.
With 1.5 litres of Sticky Trap daze glue, you make 30 daze traps.
With 3.5 litres of Sticky Trap daze glue, you make 70 daze traps.
